Rock City Event Marketing are pleased to announce The Searchers 50^th Anniversary Concert Tour will perform in Australia throughout February 2012.

It is quite a unique situation in that The Searchers can rightly lay claim to the title ‘original’; as close to fifty years since their formation in the early 60’s, two original members, John McNally and Frank Allen, still headline the group.

Of all the Merseyside bands making a name for themselves, The Searchers had a massive impact on the record charts starting with the 1963 hit “Sweets For My Sweet”, a track that John Lennon labeled ‘the best record to come out of Liverpool’. Such was their success with this one hit single that they were invited to the USA, where they had a guest slot on the famous ‘Ed Sullivan Show’. Their record success continued with more hits, “Needles and Pins”, “Don’t Throw Your Love Away” and “Someday We’re Gonna Love Again”.

While The Beatles were creating a musical Tsunami around the world, The Searchers continued to create more hits including “When You Walk In The Room”, “What Have They Done To The Rain”, “Goodbye My Love” and others.

When the excitement of the Mersey beat eventually calmed down, The Searchers continued to break records in concert and cabaret appearances both in the UK and Europe, and this phenomenon continues to this day.

This Australian Tour and the two hour stage show they present, will have audiences on their feet celebrating fifty glorious years of musical history.
