The Hopsmith Bar has an impressive range of James Squire beers on tap, as well as the old favourites Hahn, Carlton, Draught and VB. Orchard Crush Apple Cider also boasts an ice cold tap of its own.
A great place to bunker down and relax if you are new to the more crafty side of beer. You can try a few different tipples and learn the interesting stories behind their origin.
Guests at the bar are invited to start with a light, refreshing Chancer Golden Ale and work through the wide range of beers for different taste buds (including a Nine Tales Amber Ale, The Constable Copper Ale and the Sun Down Australian lager).
Our feature Winter Range beers on tap are White Rabbit Dark Ale, Little Creatures Winter Seasonal Stout, The Hotchkiss Six and James Squire's Jack of Spades Porter.
The James Squire beers are now part of Australian folklore. James Squire was a chicken thief sent to Australia with the First Fleet and continued his life of crime stealing herbs known as horehound (the closest thing to hops he could find). With it he brewed the colony’s first beer. The Hop Thief beer is named in memory of Squire’s efforts to brew a great beer for his mates. Every beer has a story like this.
